Once we decided to settle down and give up roaming, we moved into a major lifestyle transition. Fortunately we have many dear ones in the Washington, DC, area so that’s where we’re going through it – bouncing from one friend to another as we wear out our welcome. It was much easier visiting in our rolling home, where we had our own bed, kitchen, and space to retire to. Ah well….
In the last month we bought a car, sold Clemmie (our RV), packed up – horrified at the number still remaining – 72 boxes of stuff, and got estimates to ship it all to Juneau. Now spring is bursting forth with all its wonders. Sat outside this morning to eat breakfast almost deafened by the orchestra of sounds in the treetops. Now that our move tasks are more or less complete, I’ve turned my attention to improving my webskills to become competent at PHP and MySQL in the hope of making our own website (the Trouser Rollers) more dynamic. I’m also continuing my (more or less) pro bono and often demanding website and development work for non-profit and worthy causes.
