I am intrigued by what’s happening in the race for the Democratic nomination. First, Barack Obama makes some suggestions to explain why people whose economic condition is declining cling to certain views – he gets peppered with labels of being elitist. The media goes to town on this (the ABC News coverage of the recent 2 hour debate between the 2 Democrats devoted the first 45 minutes to this topic.)
Next, Hillary Clinton is smeared for behaving like an ordinary human being at a political strategy session 14 years ago and purportedly stating that the southern white (middle class) vote should be ignored. She get’s labelled as anti-middle class. Of course, the media goes to town on this one too.
Hmmmm. Does this smell like a “Swiftboat” effort to poison the Democratic candidates? Does to me.
I recall the when Karl Rove stepped down as the President’s steering wheel, he was quoted somewhere as saying he wanted to turn his attention to the 2008 race. Is this part of it?
