My name is Pat Watt. This blog is an outgrowth of our website (The Trouser Rollers) which describes my partner Bill’s and my 8-year post-retirement saga roaming the wild blue ocean in Callipygia (Tayana 37′ cutter) and the byways of North America in Clemmie (24′ Minnie Winnebago.) We ended that portion of our lives in the fall of 2008 when we came to rest in Juneau, Alaska.
To be honest, I’m a bit tired of maintaining our website, and decided to keep interested friends, family, and a few fans updated with our doings by establishing this WordPress blog, more suited to a life of hanging around in one place. It’s a lot less work than maintaining the website…. For an old geezer, that matters…. Plus I want to get more into making YouTube videos and away from those dratted photographs. There’s more of our recent doings on Facebook, if you like that kind of trivia.
For the sake of history I’ve imported all my old blog postings into this blog, and you can read Bill’s old and sporadically new blog postings at Mario Spaladuchi. These used to be on our website, but the problems with keeping the WordPress platform current on a self-hosted site became too much of a pain.
Rushing in where angels wouldn’t, I dare to say that my hope for this blog is to write regularly about what happens in the capital, things of interest in Alaska, pointers for people coming to visit, not to mention meandering around the experience of getting older – and older, and older.
